I’m solar powered.

Ever since we got back from Spain the skies have been gray and my spirit has suffered seriously from it. The colors this fall have been brilliant, but I worried the rain would knock down every last leaf before I would get to see them against a blue sky.

But today the sun came out and we savored every second of it. Even Soj was happy. He ran back and forth through the field as many times as I wanted him to. Soj is ridiculously in tune to energy so I really don’t have to do anything and he’s off like a flash. I think he knew I was taking pictures of him. Cait was singing and playing on the porch, too, so every time she would hit a loud note he would charge off to where she was. Then I would call him back and he’d charge back to me at a full gallop, slide up to me, and tap me with the tip of his nose. Over and over and over again.

And I made something for you…

Eco-friendly carved leather leaf earrings, dyed black. They’re my favorite earrings at the moment. I never take them off.

For your soul….listen to Ben Howard’s new album, “Every Kingdom”….and then start dancing.

  1. Beautiful all around. Tip of Soj’s nose, huh? That must have been fun to watch. Kid at play. Say, maybe I could buy a leather case for my phone that would attach to my belt with a snap (so it stays on, not slips off or ride up like a clip would allow). Just wondering…

  2. Hope you had a nice trip, glad you are back home. I love the big photos, I can’t get enough of looking at photo’s. If you don’t mind me aking “What do you have for a camera and lense”? I really want a new camera but they are expensive and I am really researching camera that others use. Thanks. I love the photos of Soj. and the chickens, their colors are as vibrant as the foliage. 3. Hey Tammie! The camera is a Nikon D5000. The lens is a 50mm fixed lens. Typically I wouldn’t shoot a lot of those pictures with that lens, but I broke the one that’s most ideal! The camera is cheaper now than when we got it….maybe $550-600. The lens is probably about $200. Good luck camera hunting!!
